Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops Issues Statement on Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza
On August 25, 2025, the Permanent Council of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) issued a statement in response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The statement calls attention to the suffering population of Gaza, particularly children and the elderly, whose lives continue to be endangered due to the ongoing violence and severe deprivation, as well as to the mounting casualties on all sides.

La CECC publie une Déclaration sur la crise humanitaire à Gaza
lundi le 25 août 2025Les membres du Conseil permanent de la Conférence des évêques catholiques du Canada (CECC) ont publié une déclaration en réponse à la crise humanitaire persistante à Gaza. La déclaration souligne la souffrance de la population de Gaza, en particulier les enfants et les personnes âgées, dont la vie continue d’être menacée par la violence continue et les graves privations, ainsi que le nombre croissant de victimes de tous côtés. Les membres du Conseil permanent font écho aux récentes déclarations du pape Léon XIV concernant la guerre et rappellent aux fidèles du Canada l’importance de jeûner et de prier pour une paix durable en Terre Sainte.
